Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge 2022
December 5 - December 7
Organized in partnership with the Atlantic Council, the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge is the world’s only global cyber competition for students, designed to tackle the cyber skills shortage through iterated crisis simulation and policy analysis.
Part interactive learning experience and part competitive scenario exercise, Cyber 9/12 challenges student teams from across academic disciplines to respond to a realistic and evolving cyber scenario. Teams analyze threats and develop responses to manage the crisis, with built in feedback loops from expert judges.
The French Challenge
The first French Cyber 9/12 competition was held in 2019 at the International Cybersecurity Forum. The scenario examined an evolving cyber crisis with geopolitical impacts during the 2024 Paris Olympics. The last edition brought together about forty students from various international universities and they responded to major cyber incident affecting a French military satellites.
The Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge is a unique opportunity to engage with complex cyber issues with no requisite background except an interest in the topic, the desire to learn more and the creativity to find innovative solutions to this new generation of policy issues. It also constitutes an opportunity for the next generation to develop new skills through briefings and feedback with leading experts in the field.
