Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will work on the ERC Advanced Grant DATAROUTES Project at IFG Lab, a leading research center in geopolitics. The project focuses on mapping Internet data routes to analyze the geopolitical and security implications for the European Union.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data on Internet routing and connectivity.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to science communication.
- Participate in and organize conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Provide training on relevant topics to team members (e.g., data cartography, OSINT methods).
Expected Outcomes:
- High-impact publications in relevant journals.
- Contributions to DATAROUTES activities, including conferences and training sessions.
- Advancement of open-source tools for research on data routing geopolitics.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- PhD in Geography, Geopolitics, Science and Technology Studies, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of Internet architecture, routing protocols, and governance.
- Familiarity with graph theory and cartography; GIS or graph visualization skills are an advantage.
Skills:
- Teamwork and leadership abilities for small project teams.
- Proficiency in French and English (additional languages are a plus).
- Experience with OSINT tools and methodologies.
- Self-motivation, adaptability, and strong organizational skills.
